Rendering in Torquay: St Margaret Clitherow Primary School

MPC Plastering have recently been rendering in Torquay completing an external sand cement render on St Margaret Clitherow Primary School. This work was completed on behalf of Mercury Construction. This work followed a classic external tender method, a two coat process whereby the first coat applied included a waterproof additive in the mix, followed by a second coat also including a waterproof additive, which was ruled flat then 'rubbed up' using a plastic float. To finish a light rub over the render with a damp sponge ensured any minor marks were removed.

Sand & Cement Rendering

Sand and cement rendering in Torquay is often a cheaper alternative to lime rendering but it does have the benefit of preventing damp penetration. Due to its inflexibilities cement render can’t be applied to some buildings but to find out the best render for your situation please contact MPC today for more information and we will ensure to give you the best advice and guidance possible.

Why Render?

There are a number of reasons to render a wall. Firstly it will greatly improve the overall appearance of the wall it is applied to but it will also greatly reduce the chance of water penetration and increase the fire rating of a building
